BBUM: How The Case Began
In November 2013, the Black Student Union at The University of Michigan submitted a list of demands via Twitter (#BBUM) to school administrators, hearkening
back to memories of the national Black Campus Movement in 1965-1972. Robert Greenfield IV, treasurer of the BSU and a double major junior, along
with Eric Gavin and Shayla Scales, double major seniors, represented the Black student constituency and had given the U-M one week to respond to their
demands which included the following:
